Independent Writing #4

This is just something I wrote one day. I didnt have a good day, and people are just...blah.. so I thought it would be good for one of my independent pieces. I guess I was inspired by hatred and darkness because that is pretty much how I felt. I wanted everything to get better. I wanted everything be alright again. I wanted a transformation from being upset and angry, to cheerful and happy. Writing this poem allowed me to get a lot of my anger and frustration out, like some sort of emotional relief. Even though I mostly write for myself, I hope my audience gets something out of my pieces and enjoys reading them aswell.

Falling

Falling down
I kiss the nearing ground
just as the night burns through
coming out, I’ve missed the only sound
that might help to make it real

darkness wont cover up
the hateful damage
darkness can only cover up the tears

witness the motion of the earth
witness the endings of ourselves
witness the new beginning

staring into the sun
I feel the nothingness
given and throw it away
watch our faces fade
watch the weather change
such a beautiful transformation
just before the night turns into nothing again

darkness only helps to hide the tears
of everything, nothing, and anything
darkness before light
sorrow before hope tonight
pushing forward we will
find me standing here

See my prior note about intros.

Beautiful stanza:

"staring into the sun
I feel the nothingness
given and throw it away
watch our faces fade
watch the weather change
such a beautiful transformation
just before the night turns into nothing again"

Great job with alliteration and assonance-you're naturally lyrical.
