My inspiration for this poem is thunder storms. The night I wrote this, it was raining really hard and there was thunder and lightning. Out of no where I just decided to write and this is what came to me. Thunder and lightning reminds me of pain for some reason. I guess cause it looks like it hurts.. haha. The words just came so well, and I felt like everything I was writing on my piece of paper flowed perfectly. So yeah, that is basically my inspiration for writing this, and if it wasnt thundering and lightning that night, I probably wouldnt have written this piece. Enjoy.

Waiting for the sun
Listening to the rain
Hiding from the thunder
Hiding from the pain
Waiting for the clouds
Wishing they went away
Waiting for the time
Waiting for the day
Waiting for the night
To show me the way
I wanna run away
Run from all this pain
I wanna say my pain
I just cant go on
I cannot find my way
Not without your help
Maybe I will pray
Save me from the thunder
Save me from the pain
Save me from all of this
Please make it go away

Good job experimenting with figurative language, repetition and poetic structure.
Perhaps choose some more specific images to work with in your next poem use them more extensively (what is called an extended metaphor). Check out hese samples: Sample Extended Metaphors
